Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (bFGF, FGF2, or FGF-β) is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family. bFGF is a single-chain polypeptide growth factor that plays a significant role in promoting cell proliferation. It can also inhibit apoptosis, accelerate wound healing, and induce angiogenesis. Furthermore, bFGF is highly effective at inducing DNA synthesis in various cell types, including those of mesodermal and neuroectodermal origin.
