The T7 promoter is an 18 base pair DNA sequence that can be specifically recognized by T7 RNA polymerase. The pET system allows high-level expression and it is ideal for soluble, nontoxic recombinant proteins production in E. coli.

With the modified vector, we have successfully expressed a variety of foreign genes. The novel vector series have been successfully used in single strand induction, DNA sequencing and site-directed mutagenesis. Technology Description and Service Details

pET is a powerful prokaryotic protein expression system. After the target gene is cloned into pET plasmid vector, it is strongly transcribed and translated under the control of phage T7 signal under the induction of T7 RNA polymerase provided by host cells. The mechanism of T7 RNA polymerase is very effective and selective. After IPTG induction, almost all cell resources will be used for the expression of foreign proteins. Only a few hours after IPTG is added, the target protein is usually accounted for more than 50% of the total cell protein.
