Yeast expression system is the most economical and efficient eukaryotic protein expression system, which can achieve intracellular expression or secretion expression successfully. Moreover, its amplification medium is relatively cheap, and the requirements of culture conditions are not high, so it is suitable for industrial amplification. Like mammalian cell expression system, yeast protein expression system can modify the expressed protein to ensure its natural conformation, such as glycosylation, acylation, lipoylation and phosphorylation, which can be used to prepare high value-added protein materials that are very close to the natural protein.

  • Pichia pastoris

Pichia pastoris is a methylotrophic yeast. It provides an effective platform for the production of foreign proteins. Platform components are available as kits and have been widely used in protein production worldwide in academia. Strains that can produce complex human N-glycans have been designed.

  • Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a traditional Baker's yeast, which is widely used in brewing and baking. Yeast is generally referred to as a single species. As an expression platform, it has been successfully used in the production of enzymes, insulin and hepatitis B vaccine.

  • Yarrowia lipolytica

Yersinia lipolytica is a bimodal yeast, which can grow on a variety of substrates. Therefore, it has great potential for industrial application.
