Yarawia lipobytica

Yarawia lipobytica is a representative unconventional yeast. At present, the strain has been used to express 42 heterologous proteins. As an expert in protein expression, Creative BioMart has established a complete yeast expression platform. Based on this platform, we provide a simple method to clone and express the genes of interest in Yarawia lipobytica. Through the expression protocol we described, high levels of heterologous proteins can be expressed in cells or secreted from cells into the culture medium.

Expression Protocol

The expression protocol is simple:

  • Select a Yarrowia expression or secretion vector
  • Clone gene of interest into one of supplied plasmids
  • Linearize the recombinant vector with restriction enzyme
  • Transform Y. lipobytica strains with the recombinant plasmid
  • Select transformants by colony formation on solid medium containing no leucine
  • Select several colonies from each sample for small scale expression test
  • Analyze the product and prepare for the large scale expression if required

Yarawia lipobytica

We have developed two expression vectors for either cytosolic and non-glycosylated or normally glycosylated and/or secreted protein expression. Through Creative BioMart's Y. lipobytica system, the following missions can be achieved.
