The binary expression system is a simple and efficient genetic operation tool, which improves the recombination efficiency of specific genes and realizes the precise expression of genes in time and space. Drosophila melanogaster has become a favorite in the field of scientific research because of its application of binary expression system. In the experimental study, researchers can mark tissue or cell by precise genetic operation, improve the specificity of the experiment, and achieve the goal of precisely regulating a gene in tissue or cell.

Creative BioMart can provide Drosophila Genetic Operation Service based on the binary expression system of Drosophila melanogaster. For clients who are interested in our services, please see below for more information.
At present, binary expression system is one of the important tools to realize precise genetic manipulation. Binary expression systems are usually composed of two components that regulate gene expression:
(1)Tissue-specific activators of transcription
(2) Target genes controlled by upstream activation sequence
When the tissue-specific activator of transcription binds to the upstream activation sequence, the target gene is expressed.
Currently, the available binary expression systems at Creative BioMart include GAL4/UAS, FLP/FRT, LexA/lexAop、Q system, Cre/ loxP, and CRISPR/Cas9 system.

For clients who have difficulties to decide his/her suitable expression method, please browse the information below. Hope these tips can help with making the decision.
Systems | Advantages | Limitations |
GAL4/UAS |
FLP/FRT | Gene deletion, translocation or inversion can be realized by site-specific manipulation |
LexA/lexAop | It is independent of GAL4 / UAS system and not affected by GAL80 |
Q system |
Cre/ loxP | Cre recombinase is more resistant to high temperature than FLP recombinase. | The optimal temperature of Cre recombinase is significantly higher than the standard living temperature of Drosophila. |
