Description
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), also known as Vascular Permeability Factor (VPF), is a highly specific pro-angiogenic growth factor for vascular endothelial cells. It functions to increase vascular permeability, promote extracellular matrix degradation, and stimulate endothelial cell migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis. VEGF has also been shown to have chemotactic effects on monocytes and osteoblasts.
