Description
Sf9 cells are commonly used to isolate and propagate recombinant baculoviral stocks and to produce recombinant proteins. The cells originated at the USDA Insect Pathology Laboratory, from the parental IPLBSF-21 (Sf21) cell line, which was derived from the pupal ovarian tissue of the fall army worm, Spodoptera frugiperda.
